Mecosta MX – Mecosta County’s new motocross experience

Imagine cruising around a one-mile course, smelling the pine trees, feeling the wind, and dodging the mud as you race. The motorcycle engine shifts from a roar to a purr as you release the throttle to complete your pass of the motocross track. This. Is. Bliss and now thanks to Mecosta MX – bliss is closer than ever.

Nestled amidst 29 acres of scenic beauty, owners Laura and Brent Kramer originally purchased the land to build a racetrack for their sons to practice motocross in between their races. Inspired by the community’s curiosity and support, they’ve spent the last four years working towards becoming a D14 racetrack. With the purchase of new gates and equipment, that dream could become a reality by next season, paving the way for Mecosta County to host larger Division sanctioned races and events.

While Laura finalizes the details to begin division races, Mecosta MX holds open practices Thursday through Sunday for the public, allowing motocross enthusiasts to run the track and enjoy themselves. Laura says they’ve tried hosting practice times for other types of ATVs, such as quads, but haven’t had the same response as with the open dirt bike times. She hopes that once the community becomes aware of the track’s availability, this will change, and they can expand their offerings.

But it’s not just about riding. Mecosta MX is a great place to connect with other enthusiasts and make new friends. The atmosphere is friendly and welcoming, and the Kramer’s authentic passion for motocross and the Mecosta County community is palpable and contagious. Even the most novice of motocross inquisitors will find a reason to love Mecosta County’s newest attraction.

So, if you’re looking for an adventure that’s a little more off the beaten path, Mecosta MX is the perfect change of pace. Come check it out and see why it’s already gaining attention!
