Meet Me @ the MoSO: Feminism Yesterday and Today
830 Campus Drive
Big Rapids, MI 49307
This year’s theme, “Feminism Yesterday and Today,” invites participants to take part in an engaging, multi-generational exploration of how women and their allies have worked to challenge the societal structures that have historically limited women’s rights and opportunities.
The project will result in a podcast featuring perspectives from Baby Boomer, Gen X, Millennial, Gen Z, and Alpha generations, highlighting how feminism has evolved over time and how different generations experience and define gender equity today. Organizers are seeking diverse voices from across the community to contribute to this important conversation.
The event will begin with a guided tour of the Museum of Sexist Objects (MoSO), including a history of the items in its collection and discussion of what these objects reveal about cultural attitudes, sexism, and social change.
Ideal for those interested in women’s history, social justice, community dialogue, and intergenerational learning in Mecosta County, this event offers a meaningful opportunity to reflect, share, and help shape a creative public storytelling project.
