Join multiple-award-winning director and producer Denny Tedesco for a special screening and conversation featuring his acclaimed documentary “Immediate Family.” This 2022 film explores the extraordinary story of a group of session musicians who helped shape the sound of the singer-songwriter era and became the studio band behind many of the biggest stars of the 1970s and beyond.

“Immediate Family” highlights the careers and influence of Leland Sklar, Danny Kortchmar, Russ Kunkel, and Waddy Wachtel, whose musicianship can be heard on recordings by legendary artists including James Taylor, Carole King, Jackson Browne, Linda Ronstadt, Don Henley, Crosby, Stills & Nash, Warren Zevon, and many more.

Directed by Denny Tedesco, who also created the celebrated documentary “The Wrecking Crew,” the film serves as both a tribute and a behind-the-scenes look at the next wave of studio players who defined an era of American music through collaboration, friendship, and unforgettable performances.

Following the screening, attendees are invited to participate in a discussion with Tedesco about the film, the musicians, and the lasting legacy of studio artists who helped create some of the most beloved recordings of all time.

Perfect for fans of music history, documentary film, and live cultural events in Mecosta County, this screening offers an engaging and memorable celebration of the musicians who helped shape modern popular music.
