Henna Tattoo Workshop, with Erin Dumond
1301 S. State Street
Big Rapids, MI 49307
Join local artist Erin Dumond for an exciting evening discovering the art of henna, also known as mehndi, a 5,000-year-old tradition of decorating the skin with intricate temporary designs. Henna creates a natural stain that typically lasts one to two weeks, making it a unique and expressive form of body art.
This beginner-friendly workshop introduces participants to foundational henna techniques and the design elements that create beautiful, flowing patterns. Erin will share insight from her 15 years of experience with henna, offering helpful guidance for anyone interested in learning more about this cultural and artistic practice.
Participants will have the opportunity to practice using a henna cone and will take home templates of design elements to continue exploring the craft on their own.
The workshop is free to attend, but pre-registration is required. Register in person at Artworks, 106 N. Michigan Avenue, or by calling (231) 796-2420.
Perfect for those seeking creative cultural workshops and hands-on arts experiences in West Michigan, this event offers a welcoming introduction to the timeless beauty of henna.
