If you have ever wanted to try your hand at forging a knife here is your opportunity. This class is designed for someone with no knife making experience. It will not be an in depth training on all things bladesmithing, but the opportunity to learn some basics and learn by doing. You will forge two projects. One will be a simple tool in order to acclimate yourself with the tools and process. The second will be a knife forged from a railroad spike. You will hand forge the blade with fire, hammers and anvil. You will finish the blade on belt grinders. Everything that you need will be provided. Dress in clothes appropriate for working. Closed toe shoes are required. You will be working in a shop environment with power tools and hot steel. All participants must sign a liability release form.
