Creating a Birdhouse, with Dr. Peter Zadvinskis
226 N Michigan Ave
Big Rapids, MI 49307 (231) 796-2420
Help the Bird City Big Rapids team create healthier habitats for local birds by joining Peter Zadvinskis for an interactive birdhouse-building workshop. Participants will learn how to construct and properly install birdhouses to attract native bird species and provide safe, secure shelter in their own outdoor spaces.
Zadvinskis, a member of the inaugural Bird City committee, brings both woodworking skill and a strong passion for conservation. His handcrafted birdhouses can be found throughout Big Rapids, supporting species such as wood ducks, bluebirds, chickadees, nuthatches, and more.
All materials will be provided. Attendees are encouraged to bring basic woodworking tools if possible, though a limited supply will be available on site. Each participant will leave with a one-of-a-kind birdhouse, perfect for enhancing backyard wildlife habitat while supporting Bird City efforts.
The workshop is free to attend, but pre-registration is required. Register in person at Artworks, 106 N. Michigan Avenue, or by calling (231) 796-2420.
Ideal for families, nature lovers, and DIY enthusiasts, this event offers a meaningful way to contribute to bird conservation and community environmental programs in Mecosta County.
