Experience the excitement of winter in Northern Michigan at the Baldwin Sled Dog Derby, a family-friendly outdoor event that celebrates the sport of dog sled racing and the spirit of the Baldwin community. Visitors can watch skilled mushers and powerful sled dogs compete in thrilling races that highlight speed, teamwork, and endurance.

The event features a Lead Dog Sponsor Supersprint and, new for this season, an M18 one-day, eight-dog, fourteen-mile race held at the Sweetwater race track on Wingleton Road. Spectators are welcome to enjoy the action up close while taking in the scenic winter landscape that makes Baldwin a favorite destination for outdoor recreation.

In addition to the races, the Baldwin Sled Dog Derby offers activities open to the public, including a Kid-N-Mutt one-dog dash, kids’ games, and interactive fun for families. Proceeds from the event support Grandma’s Cupboard Baby Pantry and the Baldwin High School Athletic Boosters, making this a great way to enjoy winter fun while supporting local causes.
