“Tyrannosaur” presents a darkly satirical vision of a world transformed when prehistoric predators awaken after millions of years in suspended animation to reclaim the Earth. As the massive creatures journey across continents toward the Himalayas, the story explores themes of environmental collapse, power, and humanity’s relationship with the natural world. Inspired by a childhood fantasy, the comic blends science fiction, allegory, and imagination into a striking body of work that reflects both personal memory and global concerns. The exhibit highlights the collaboration between Halm and Mumah, whose creative partnership spans more than 30 years and includes early digital content work at Ferris State University.

Ted Halm is a former Ferris State University communications professional with a distinguished career in writing and publishing, now focused on fiction and poetry. Mikey Mumah is a veteran freelance illustrator whose work spans comics, children’s books, newspapers, and tabletop role-playing games, with credits including Wet Ink Games, Third Eye Games, and Palladium Books.
