10 Countries, 25 Stops, 70 Days presented by Bruce Dilg
226 N Michigan Ave
Big Rapids, MI 49307
Join retired Ferris State University Professor of Architecture Bruce Dilg as he shares the moving story of a solo European journey undertaken after the recent loss of his wife, Robin. Through travel, Bruce sought both healing and fulfillment of a dream they had shared together: to camp across Europe.
Using a rented VW camper, he spent the month of May traveling through France, Spain, and Portugal, staying in off-the-beaten-path campgrounds and exploring cities on foot. In June, his adventure continued with a Eurail pass and youth hostels as he journeyed through Switzerland, Austria, Italy, the Czech Republic, and Lithuania before returning home.
Bruce’s presentation offers a heartfelt travelogue of ten countries, filled with stories of challenge, discovery, and the powerful role that adventure can play during life’s transitions.
Perfect for travel enthusiasts and those drawn to meaningful personal storytelling, this event provides an inspiring look at European exploration and lifelong learning in West Michigan’s Festival of the Arts programming.
