September, 2019Hello September, Hello Fall! The Mecosta County Convention & Visitors Bureau has had an amazing and busy summer this year. We have been able to host and promote many exciting events and adventures throughout Mecosta County. For starters, our strategic investment of $100,000 in the Michigan’s Dragon Trail Project will provide both Mecosta and Newaygo counties endless opportunities in outdoor recreation on a national level along with enabling the Mecosta County CVB an amazing marketing opportunity for our community. We also are proud to have the distinction of having the longest of 3 suspension bridges on the trail being named after our organization. We partnered with our Mecosta County golf courses and amazing hotels creating the GolfBR.org Program. Our local golf program also allowed us to partner with the Chicago District Golf Association putting Mecosta County in front of their over 80,000 members.Speaking of great partnership, we had an amazing time bringing back Blues, Brews & BBQ with our friends from the Big Rapids Lions Club. The support and participation was so amazing that we are excited to say we will be bringing this fantastic event back for 2020.The Mecosta County CVB was able to become a tourism marketing partner of this amazing state brand for not only the Spring and Summer seasons but for this Fall and upcoming winter months as well. With the state matching funding program our $50,000 investment in Pure Michigan, we gained a $100,000.00 ad campaign for all of Mecosta County.Let’s not forget one our favorite, local partnerships with our friends of the Band Of Locals. With the Mecosta County CVB’s mission of “more heads in beds” and the Band Of Locals mission of “more bodies in businesses” we have created an amazing, combined marketing team! For a complete list Events, Annual Festivals and Things To Do in Mecosta County visit our mobile friendly website at BigRapids.org and check out our Community Events Calendar or visit us in person at the Mecosta County Welcome Center located at 127 S.
