Artworks invites you to come see their Salute to Veterans exhibit!
The exhibit features (upstairs) creative t-shirts and footwear from Fashion Has Heart (an Artprize top 25 entry) where wounded veterans harness their creativity and transform their thoughts into actual designs.
The exhibit also features The Wounded Warrior Dogs Project, a traveling poster exhibit of wooden dog sculptures created by master Ohio craftsman James Mellick. The dogs are intended to be symbolic of the sacrifice and exhibit the same wounds as their human companions in battle. The original installation of wounded and rehabilitated dogs intends to raise awareness and focus the attention on the sacrifice and needs of wounded veterans. Local community members have loaned Artworks military memorabilia—everything from uniforms to trunks to blankets are on display representing each of the armed forces.
Closing exhibit will be Saturday, November 11, 2017 from 1pm until 3pm. A military vehile will be on display, a humvee.
